Converting the HBF into a Condensate Unit
Q I have an application to replace a condensate unit that has a 55-gallon steel receiver with two pumps rated at 60 GPM at 20 psig. The
space constraint requires a long narrow unit, under 30" in width. What can I do?

A Try converting a horizontal boiler feed unit to a condensate return unit. The 50HBF is very close in size to the unit you require. The
HBF has a cylindrical steel tank with both pumps mounted on one head. However, it is a boiler feed unit with a mechanical make-up, not a
pump controller. This can be resolved by replacing the make-up valve with a mechanical alternator. If the duty point requires higher flows or
pressures than the standard PF pumps can provide, we can extend the range by supplying B style pumps. B style pumps have a 180° angle
between the suction and discharge. This allows the pumps to be installed side by side on a narrow receiver like the HBF without the need
for offset flanges or flange extensions.

For more information, contact your local Domestic representative.
