Morton Grove, IL -- June 26, 1996 -- A series of horizontal boiler feed(HBF)
units designed for pump retrofit applications, operating with as littleas
2' NPSH and condensate temperatures to 210oF (99oC), has been introducedby
ITT Hoffman.
Unit components have been selected and matched for maximum performance life.
They include centrifugal pumps fitted with carbon/ceramic mechanical sealsdesigned
for temperatures to 250oF (121oC). Powered by 3500 RPM, 1 phase,115/230
volt ODP motors, these pumps will deliver two times boiler evaporationrate.
In simplex
(1 pump) and duplex (2 pumps) configurations, the new boiler feed unitsare
available in EDR sizes ranging from 9,000 to 40,000 sq. ft.
Internal and external surfaces of each unit's heavy gauge, horizontal steelreceiver
are protected with HoffGuard corrosion-resistant coating. Thereceivers feature
the lowest inlet design to facilitate retrofitting inapplications with low
return lines.
All receivers have 2 pump openings, come in 50, 110, and 220 gallon tankcapacities,
and are sized for 5 minutes minimum storage. Separate ventand overflow connections
provide a secondary vent for safe operation. Awater level gauge glass includes
protective brass rods and shut-off valve. A float-operated make-up valve
adds cold water at low level.
Hoffman Series HBF horizontal boiler feed units fit through a 32-inch wideopening,
and are manufactured in an ISO 9001 certified facility, for consistentquality
and dependable performance.
