McDonnell & Miller Unveils Technologically Advanced Foam Compensating Low Water Cut-Off

Morton Grove, IL - September 24, 1999 -A new Series of foam compensating, probe-type low water cutoffs has been introduced by McDonnell & Miller. The M&M Series PS-804 Low Water Cut-Offs are precision engineered to protect hot water boilers from low-water conditions and provide burner cut-off in the event of a major loss of water.
In addition to providing continuous protection against low water conditions, the Series PS-804 turns off the burner every ten minutes to check the proper water level for a 90 second interval. This feature allows foam in the boiler to dissipate, ensuring accurate water level sensing.
Unlike other foam compensating low water cutoffs, the Series PS-804 features a unique burner sensing unit which minimizes short cycling by only activating the ten minute timing feature when the burner is firing. The Series PS-804 is equipped with solid-state components and is available in 24 VAC and 120 VAC models. The Series PS-804 is also available in extended barrel, remote and short probe models. Other features of the cutoff include:

  • Red LED low water indicating light
  • Yellow LED indicating light (test/water feeder/90 second foam settling)
  • Automatic reset resumes operation after a power outage.
