New Bell & Gossett Automatic Air Vent Increases Heat Transfer and Comfort

A rugged new automatic air vent that eliminates the accumulation of troublesome trapped air is now available from Bell & Gossett. Featuring a durable brass body, the new Number 400 Automatic Air Vent is designed so that accumulated air allows the float to drop, causing the air to be vented through the valve. As the liquid level rises, the float rises to close off the valve.

The new Air Vent also features an innovative anti-rotation and anti-vibration float system that ensures the efficient operation of the float, providing for reliable venting and long life. By more effectively removing accumulated air, the new 400 Automatic Air Vent with its unique Air Collection Paddle provides the following system benefits:

• increases heat transfer and comfort
• reduces noise in the system
• increases the life of system equipment
• enhances the capture of air to be released
• promotes efficient air separation and removal
• assists in reducing energy requirements

The air vent’s compact design (3-1/8” x 1-7/8”) makes it easy to install, and it’s brass construction and non-ferrous internal wetted parts significantly extends its operating life. The Number 400 Automatic Air Vent has a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi (10 bar) and a maximum operating temperature of 240º (116ºC).
