Bell & Gossett Introduces High-Performance Series HSC3 Split Case Pumps

Bell & Gossett has unveiled a new line of rugged horizontal split case centrifugal pumps designed for a variety of commercial and HVAC applications. The innovative HSC3 series boasts three major design features that provide optimal performance, longer pump life and greater ease of maintenance.

The first of these three key design features is the internally self-flushing mechanical seals that extend seal performance and operating life. The innovative design ensures maximum seal face lubrication, heat dissipation and debris removal—all without vulnerable external flush lines and filter kits that can clog and result in seal failure. This B&G design, an industry standard, results in significantly longer mechanical seal life. This unique design also provides another significant advantage by dramatically shortening the shaft span between the pump bearings. The pump’s shorter shaft design ensures extended performance by reducing shaft fatigue and significantly reducing the wear on the mechanical seals and bearings.

The second innovative feature is the new easy-maintenance design. The pump’s unique casing configuration provides quick and simple access to the bearing and seal components with the removal of just a few bolts. The expensive, time-consuming process of removing the upper casing half and pulling the rotating element, as well as the need for special material handling equipment, are things of the past.

The third key design feature is the heavy-duty, welded steel base plate that provides maximum rigidity and support, while the closed base plate ends and open top allow for simplified equipment grouting.

As is true of all B&G frame-mounted pumps, the HSC3 series pumps feature ANSI and OSHA compliant coupling guards that are engineered to provide the highest possible level of safety and protection from rotating equipment. Available in 33 varying sizes, the Series HSC3 can deliver up to 5,000 GPM and up to 500 feet of head.
