Chicago, IL -- May 8, 2001--Hoffman Specialty, a unit of ITT Industries and a leading manufacturer of steam traps, regulators and valves for residential, commercial and industrial applications, has incorporated advanced manufacturing techniques into the production of all brass-finish steam and water vents.
A special induction soldering process eliminates the need for a painted finish and also reduces emissions during manufacturing, which complies with Hoffman Specialty's ISO 14001 certification. In January 1998, Hoffman Specialty became the first company to comply with the advanced environmental standard and achieve ISO 14001 certification in Illinois.
Beginning with units featuring a date code of 01A, the following vents will no longer be painted green:

Model 74-Steam Unit Heater Air Valve

Model 75- Air Valve

Model 75H- Air Valve

Model 76- Vacuum Valve

Model 79- Water Main Vent Valve
