Did you know B&G offers an extensive CAD library of 2D/3D product drawings and system schematics? Take a look at http://rcwapp.itt.com/BG-CAD.asp. Here is
what one user had to say...

WOW!!!!!!!!! I just wanted to send a note to let you know how impressed I am with the CAD 3D download tool you have for the
pumps and accessories. This is the best site I have been to since I have been detailing. It is very easy to use and saves me
time. We use a lot of Bell and Gossett products so this will be used often. Thanks for doing such a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!

McDonnell & Miller Announces New Flow Switches - Series FS250
|
|
|
McDonnell & Miller announces new general purpose flow switches, the Series FS250. The patent pending design has the same
switching mechanism in two models - FS251 (NEMA-1) and FS254 (NEMA-4). Both switch models carry ASME Section IV Boiler Ratings
of 250ºF and 160 psig and use EPDM O-rings to provide the liquid-to-air seal. The switches were field tested for over 18 months
in numerous applications, and laboratory tested at rated pressure and temperature achieving over 240,000 cycles with no failures.
These flow switches are offered with an industry first five year warranty.

Add Value to Your Design, Specify ARI Certified Equipment
|
|
|
When your equipment, such as a heat exchanger, carries an ARI certification, rest assure that it will meet the required
performance.
ARI Standard 400 certified equipment provides a common method among different manufacturers for evaluating the thermal
performance and pressure drops of liquid to liquid heat exchangers. By requiring ARI Standard 400 certification, buyers and
users know that products are rated on a uniform basis and can properly make selections for specific applications. Certification
is granted only to heat exchangers that, when tested, meet or exceed the manufacturers published thermal performance rating. An
ARI Standard 400 certified or rated Plate and Frame heat exchanger ensures the HVAC system is as energy efficient as possible,
potentially resulting in energy cost savings.

History Lesson : The Monoflo Fitting
|
|
|
Last month we discussed how the combination of B&G circulators, controls and Monoflo® fittings helped increase the popularity
of hydronic heating. Now a little about the Monoflo...
Mr. Kehm of Stevens Root Manufacturing Company located in Chicago invented a small fitting called a Forced Flow Shunt.
The shunt, along with a circulator, made it possible to use much smaller pipe sizes for hot water systems. He was issued a patent
in 1934. He sold the shunts and his own circulator principally around the Chicago area but had a few agents around the country.
He experienced extreme difficulties with his pump design and entered into an agreement with B&G in 1935. B&G would manufacture
and sell the Forced Flow Shunts with a royalty paid to Mr. Kehm and Stevens Root Manufacturing would be sold a brand named version
of the B&G Booster. In 1940, B&G renamed the shunt the Monoflo fitting and received a trademark.
